Materials: • Construction paper • Glue • Boxes of various sizes • Markers • Brass paper brads
Directions: Provide your child with books and pictures of real fire trucks. Discuss what they see on the trucks such as ladders, hoses, etc. Cover a shoe box (lid on) with red construction paper. Glue a smaller box (also covered with construction paper) on top of one end for the “cab” of the truck. Decorate the boxes using crayons and markers to add such details as headlights, doors, windows, hose, ladder, and so on. Cut wheels from cardboard and attach them to the truck with brass brads.
